Coincidentally enough, today in my rock and roll class we were discussing the Beatles once more and my prof, Gord, told us that while these lost Beatles tapes have been recovered, we shouldn't get too excited because there is no actual *new* material on it, only out takes of the Let It Be sessions. So I mean if you were expecting brand new songs you'll be out of luck, but if you were hoping for something more along the lines of the Anthologies (like you mentioned) with outtakes and alternate versions of songs, that's what you'll get. Although I don't know if they're actually going to release the stuff. Have fun in your class tomorrow. : )

Woo! Townshend!! Fantastic!!! (notice how the number of exclamation marks increased each time?) Also, "Revolution #9" is beyond pretentious, that was a very good assessment. I have never bought into the idea that aimless noodling in the studio is automatically revered as art (which is the reason that I dislike most of Pink Floyd's work, but that is a subject for another day).

more guestbook hysterics [Kiss' "rock and roll all nite" is on the radio, so i feel really cool right now]. Rock and Roll History Fashion Tip: do not wear any sort of band regalia to class on the first day. It makes you look a leetle too keen for the class {even though clearly you should be}. Of course, any day AFTer the first is alright. {i love how somehow there is dress-code protocol for a rock and roll class}. ANd anyway, what is more fun that a darth vader t-shirt?

If it makes you feel any better, the postal service in Canada isn't any better. I was supposed to get my free hat from the Rolling Stones fan club ages and ages ago, and yet my head remains bare. Maybe they didn't get my fax, the one that was supposed to enter me in the stupid fan club (free with ticket purchase, you see, so why not?). Goddamn mail.

Good to hear that you've finished (the essay). Don't worry you'll probably do fabulously (last year I handed in this essay a week late, and when I handed it to my prof I literally said "this is the worst thing you'll ever read" and I ended up with an 85%)...
